Emily woke up at 6:30 this morning.
Somehow I managed to get up
Make her breakfast
Get a quick yoga session in
Drive my mom to work because her car is in the shop
Take Emi to her art class
Take a trip to the park on the way home from art
And then we decorated gingerbread cookies
And all of that before noon.
Super mom status!
I just finished buying all the candy canes.
I blame Rosie
I have so many blurry pictures of her dancing. I love them because they show her in her happy place, because they aren’t posed they are her in pure joyous motion.
My Emily has loved to dance since she was 5 months old and could barely sit up, she would wiggle to music in her seat with a big smile on her little face. Her love for dancing and music has grown bigger and bigger through the years.Signing her up for ballet is one of the best things I could have done for her. Every single Wednesday she runs into the studio yelling HI MS RACHEL, and for the next 45 minutes she is a beautiful dancing blur.
I know you aren’t talking! I would kill for those eyes of yours!
Creep away my dear I loooove it ;)
I was told I don’t post enough selfies, so here have a picture of my face. Emily and I are going on a lunch date with a friend so I actually bothered to put on makeup today!
Your photos are stunning. What camera do you use?
Thank you :) I shoot with a Nikon d700 and either a 35mm1.8 or a 50mm1.8
It’s the most wonderful time of the year<3
How are you managing to find the energy to still do things with your daughter? I am 9 weeks 2 days and I can barely get out of bed. Also can you recommend your favorite pregnancy books
The simple answer is I force myself. Believe me I’ve declared more than one day a “movie day” or allowed her to watch a little extra TV so I could lay on the couch with her and catch a quick nap, but for the most part I am in the same boat.. I have no energy but I force myself to still get up and function because lets face it with a 3 year old I have to! Plus I go to bed as early as possible.
My favorite pregnancy book is A Hollistic Guide to Pregnancy; Magical Beginnings, Enchanted Lives.
I also really like Green Babies, Sage moms which goes from pregnancy to newborns and is by the same people who wrote one of my favorite books, green kids, sage families!
good luck! I hope you get your energy back soon, give yourself a break though growing tiny humans isn’t easy! <3
You're one of my 10 favorite followers! So, share 5 facts about yourself and send the request on to 10 of your favorite followers! :D
Aw<3 you’re one of my favorites too!
Ok lets see…
1. Christmas is my all time favorite holiday, but I despise the winter. I’m an early fall girl.
2. My cat calls me Mama and runs around the house yelling HELLO if he can’t find me. He is like my second child.
3. When people ask me what I want to do with my life my first though is I’m already doing it, I’m a mom. It’s my passion.
4. I buy journals obsessively and then don’t write in them. It’s terrible, my bookshelf is filled with empty journals but they are so beautiful I can’t stop buying them!
5. I was a vegetarian for 13 years and although I occasionally eat chicken now because of health problems I hate meat, I refuse to eat pork or red meat all together. I still use vegan or vegetarian “meat” on a regular basis.
The other night Dylan and I decided to suprise Emily with a trip to National Harbor to see the giant Christmas tree and all of the Christmas lights they put up for the holidays. When we got there we found that they had a Carousel and a play area set up for kids. If you know my daughter you know she LOVES carousel’s like she is obsessed. It was $3 for 1 ride but for $5 you could have unlimited rides so we coughed up the $5 and told her she could ride as many times as she wanted.
1st she rode the polar bear
then she rode the Lion
after that she wanted a break so off to the playground area they had set up she went, where she played until she was ready to get back on.
this is where things get interesting…
My poor sweet ladybug got so excited she peed her pants.. right on the giant bird she begged to ride next.
A little back story, Emily has been potty trained since just about 2 and half. She maybe wet the bed twice and one of those times she was sick, other than that I can count on one hand the number of accidents she has had since we got rid of diapers. She literally just got so excited she didn’t even stop to think about the fact that she had to pee until it was to late.
The look on her face broke my heart. She whispered so quietly “mommy I think I need to pee I think we should go” when I realized what happened I picked her up and told her accidents happen to everyone it was more than ok and we whisked her off to the closest bathroom which just so happened to be a resteraunt that served corn dogs her FAVORITE food.
I ended up being able to dry her pants on a hand dryer in the bathroom and after lots of cuddles and of course a corn dog her spirits were lifted enough to go see the big Christmas tree.
She now proudly tells everyone “I peed on the giant bird, which is silly right? but mommy said it was ok because sometimes accidents happen”
I love this girl so much.
